Endovenous Laser Thermal Ablation
Endovenous Thermal Ablation (EVTA) is the single most important advance for treating varicose veins in a century! Previously, one would be exposed to the risks of both surgery and general anesthesia for vein stripping followed by a painful recovery with permanent scars.
VeinGogh
Although some lasers are effective for small spider veins on the face, they provide inconsistent disappointing results when used for spider veins on the leg. Also, sun exposure must be avoided for weeks after laser treatment. Do not confuse these ineffective “topical” surface lasers with the highly effective…
Ultrasound-guided Sclerotherapy
Although EVTA is the preferred method of choice for treating saphenous-derived varicose veins, not everyone is a good candidate for EVTA. If the saphenous vein is tortuous, small, close to the skin, or fragmented from previous treatment efforts, one can instead use UGS.
Sclerotherapy
The treatment of choice for most spider veins is sclerotherapy – the injection of small amounts of a special solution directly into unwanted veins. This collapses and shrinks the treated veins which are later reabsorbed by the body’s natural healing response. It is a brief office procedure which requires no anesthesia.
